Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026
The short version

We use Google's advertising tools to measure how our ads perform, we count clicks on our product links, and — only if you choose to subscribe — we keep your email address. We don't sell your personal data for money.

Information we collect

When you visit The Find Desk, some technical information is collected automatically — things like your browser type, device, approximate location (country/city level), the pages you visit, and whether you clicked through to a retailer. This is standard website data and doesn’t include your name or contact details.

If you arrive by clicking one of our ads on Google, the link includes a click identifier created by Google. We use it to measure whether that ad led to a purchase (see Advertising and measurement below).

If you choose to subscribe using the form on our site, we collect the email address you provide. That’s the only information we ask for directly, and it’s entirely optional.

Cookies, advertising and measurement

We use cookies and similar technologies for these purposes:

  • Advertising and measurement (Google Ads) — we use the Google tag to see which of our ads bring visitors to the site and whether those visitors click through to a retailer. Google may also use this to build audiences so our ads can be shown again to people who have visited the site (remarketing). You can manage how Google personalizes ads at My Ad Center.
  • Purchase attribution — when you arrive from a Google ad and then click one of our product links, the Google click identifier is passed along with that click to our affiliate network partner. If you make a purchase, the network reports it back to Google Ads so we can see which ads work. This does not include your name, email, or payment details. The identifier is kept only in your browser tab for the length of your visit.
  • Link-click counting — our link management tool sets a cookie so we can count clicks on our product links without identifying you.
  • Affiliate tracking — after you click a link to a retailer, a cookie may be set by that retailer’s affiliate network so they can credit us if you make a purchase. This cookie belongs to the network, not to us, and it doesn’t give us access to your purchase details.

You can control or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. See our Cookie Policy for more detail.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to understand how people use the site, measure and improve our advertising, improve our content, and — if you’ve subscribed — send you updates about new picks. Subscriber emails are stored and sent through our email service provider, Brevo, which processes them on our behalf.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information for money. Some privacy laws, including certain US state laws, may treat the use of advertising cookies for remarketing as “sharing” personal information for targeted advertising. If you’d like to opt out of that, you can block third-party cookies in your browser, adjust your settings in Google’s My Ad Center, or contact us.

Third-party links

The Find Desk contains links to third-party retailers and brands. Once you leave our site through one of these links, that site’s own privacy policy applies — we don’t control, and aren’t responsible for, how those sites handle your data.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you — including under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the UK/EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Canada’s PIPEDA, or Australia’s Privacy Act 1988. To exercise any of these rights, just reach out using the contact details below.

Children's privacy

The Find Desk is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we’ll remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as the site grows. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date at the top.
